Although Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis‘ love story started with optimism, it ultimately failed to endure over time. The couple, who first met and married during season seven of Netflix’s *Love Is Blind*, have officially separated after just over a year of marriage. Ashley confirmed the news in a heartfelt statement.
“After careful consideration, I want to announce that Tyler and I have been separated for several weeks and have made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” the 33-year-old shared with People on January 21. “While I had hoped for mutual understanding and transparency, it has become clear that our paths are no longer aligned, making it necessary for me to move on.”
Ashley made it clear that she did not make this decision lightly. She described it as essential for her personal growth and peace.
“While this chapter is closing, I will always hold deep respect for the time and love we shared,” Ashley added. “I kindly request privacy during this personal transition as I focus on healing and charting a new future. Thank you for your understanding.”
Tyler has yet to publicly comment on the separation, but he previously addressed rumors regarding marital difficulties tied to his three children. Back in October 2024, he refuted claims that he misled Ashley about the nature of his relationship with his alleged sperm donor children, which he revealed just two weeks before their wedding.
During a pivotal moment in episode nine of the seventh season, Tyler asserted that he didn’t even know what his children looked like. However, photos of him with his alleged children surfaced on social media before the reunion episode, adding further complexity to the narrative.
Fans on social media are right to call the impending divorce unsurprising, as they rally behind Ashley with strong support. One “Love Is Blind” fan on X stated, “It’s evident that everyone would have understood Ashley leaving Tyler when all that drama unfolded. She made a concerted effort to draw attention to the unhappiness of others, given Tyler’s reputation as a liar. Now, she looks foolish for enduring all of that and ending up divorced. Therapy and a reliable support system will undoubtedly help her get back on track. She will be just fine.”
While Tyler and Ashley’s breakup is shocking, it’s far from surprising. Their relationship stands out as one of the most chaotic in “Love Is Blind” history—much of the drama remained off-screen. Tyler and Ashley appeared to have the healthiest relationship among the seven couples who ultimately engaged through the experiment this season. Until mid-season, at least. In between episode releases, fans discovered that Tyler is the biological father of three children, a significant detail he had not disclosed during any episodes. By piecing together the show’s timeline and earlier information shared by Tyler and Ashley about their lives, fans eagerly began to connect the dots.
On October 7, storytimewithrikkii released a series of TikTok videos. The videos went viral across various social media platforms. Rikkii claimed in the first video, “Tyler’s GFs are Coming ‘Out of the Woodwork,” that Tyler is the father of three children: two twin girls and a boy. The video included additional allegations about the nature of his relationship with the children, featuring resurfaced social media posts and photos, as well as accusations of him “hiding” the young kids. The Tyler & Ashley drama on Love Is Blind captivated fans, particularly the question of whether Ashley knew about Tyler’s children. Viewers speculated that important details might have been left out of the show, leaving them uncertain about Tyler’s honesty.
In episode 9, just 13 days before their wedding, Tyler and Ashley had a tense discussion in their shared apartment. Ashley expressed her confusion, stating, “This is a big thing,” after Tyler dropped a “bomb” about his kids. She revealed she had left the apartment to gather her thoughts and was frustrated that Tyler had mentioned wanting multiple kids without disclosing that he was already a father to multiple children with someone he knew.
During a November appearance on the Dear Future Wifey podcast, Tyler discussed his strained relationship with his children’s mother, stating this was why he “wasn’t active” in his kids’ lives. He expressed that he never intended to be a present father figure, saying, “I want them to have their family and leave me alone” and describing himself as a “glorified babysitter” needing money from their mother.
