Nicki Minaj Is Being Sued By Ex-Manager Brandon Garrett

By Alice Redpill

Nicki Minaj exploded on her day-to-day manager and hit him in the face so hard that she “knocked his head back and sent his hat flying.” At least according to a new lawsuit filed by Thomas Feher, she did.

A man named Brandon Garrett is suing the Barbz. He claims he was Nicki’s manager during her tour earlier this year and she got physical with him. High-powered trial attorney Thomas Feher filed the lawsuit. Garrett claims Nicki sent him on an errand after her April 2024 concert in Detroit.

Garrett was on his way back from an errand Minaj requested when he received a text message from her head of security, Larry Dathan (also known as “Bz”). Dathan allegedly told Garrett that Minaj wanted to see him in the dressing room. When he arrived, Garrett said eight members of Minaj’s staff were present. Including Dathan, another employee named Luke Montgomery, and her former manager Deb Antney. Garrett claims that Minaj started to express her dissatisfaction with the staff’s lack of clarity about their responsibilities and hierarchy when she questioned Montgomery about his role.

Nicki has been known to claim “People have been sent to Sabotage me and my tour.”

“Mr. Montgomery explained that his duties entailed tasks like venue dressing room set-up, private jet set-up, hotel room set-up, quick change room refreshments, and tour bus set-up,” the complaint reads. “Mr. Montgomery mentioned these duties were in addition to any requests from Nicki communicated by Garrett. Including food orders, drinks, personal items, baby items, and, most notably, prescriptions.”

Garrett explained his tour responsibilities, Which included helping Minaj with quick changes during performances, occupied him, so he had Montgomery pick up the prescriptions.

He says she flew into a rage when she learned Garrett had once sent someone else to pick up one of her prescriptions. What prescriptions? We do not know?!

In the suit, Garrett claims Nicki screamed at him. “Are you f***ing crazy having him pick up my prescription? You have lost your f***ing mind, and if my husband were here, he would knock out your f***ing teeth. You’re a dead man walking. You just f***ed up your whole life, and you will never be anyone; I’ll make sure of it.”

Minaj then allegedly “started yelling” at Montgomery, asking what day he picked up the prescriptions and “what exact prescriptions they were.” When Montgomery said he couldn’t recall, she told him “to look through his phone” until he found it.

Garrett claims that neither he nor Montgomery could find the information Minaj was asking to see. After Montgomery allegedly offered up his cell phone to Minaj to read the messages between him and Garrett, the complaint states she approached him and “got very close to his face” while continuing to yell at him. Nicki kept screaming at him and told him his “life was over” before striking him on the right side of his face with an open hand.

He says the force of the blow caused his head to swing backward, and his hat flew off his head. Nicki’s security team then allegedly swarmed in close to Garrett. He then claims Nicki struck him on his right wrist, knocking documents in his hand onto the floor. Nicki then demanded he “get the f*** out,” and he says he grabbed his hat and quickly exited the room. He locked himself inside a restroom at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

This would have been her April 20th show date. During the show in Detroit, Big Sean joined Nicki on stage to perform “Dance(A$$)”. Sada Baby also joined Minaj on stage to perform “a whole lot of choppas.”

His head was throbbing and his face was sore. He called his fiancée to let her know what happened. He said he stayed locked in the restroom for hours out of fear for his safety. He then received notice from Atney that he would not be joining the group on the bus to Minaj’s next tour stop in Chicago. Leaving him stranded in Detroit.

Garrett claims he took an Uber to the Detroit airport. Called the Detroit Police Department to inquire about filing a police report. However, the Detroit PD officers allegedly informed him that he would need to appear in person at a precinct office to make a formal report. Garrett claims that at this juncture, he had already secured a flight back to Chicago and reached out to the Chicago Police Department for a police escort to his hotel. Citing concerns for his safety and uncertainty about the removal or tampering of his belongings. Why not stay to file? The fear for his safety should have been gone because he knew Nicki was leaving the area for her next tour stop.

He is suing Nicki on charges of assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, and he is pursuing damages from her. He is seeking both punitive and exemplary damages in addition to general damages.

Nicki’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, tells TMZ.

“At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty, and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations. However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”

Nicki’s legal team appears to be adamant that the claims are unfounded and anticipates a favorable resolution.

Given its high-profile nature and the serious accusations involved, observers will closely monitor the lawsuit as it progresses. Thomas Feher’s document contains a significant amount of hearsay. Nicki’s team could easily dispute. Hopefully, for Brandon’s safety, there were cameras and witnesses present when he locked himself in a bathroom. Or else he’s cooked. Cell phone records could easily tear this case apart.

The Pink Friday 2 World Tour was a huge success. Grossing over $108.8 million. It was the highest-grossing tour by a female rapper and the fourth-highest-grossing tour by a rapper or hip-hop artist in history. It was her first concert tour in over five years. Following The Nicki Wrld Tour 2019, and her first tour within North America in over nine years. Her previous event was The Pinkprint Tour 2015.

The Pink Friday 2 World tour received highly positive reviews from critics; who praised the spectacle of the show and Minaj’s overall dominance. On average, Nikki performed about thirty-eight songs and had lots of surprise guests like Tyga, 50 Cent, Drake, and more. She even took the tour to Rolling Loud this year.

So what exactly is Bradon up to? Was he really that scared? If he was as scared for his life and safety as he says he was, you would think that he would have stayed in Detroit to file a police report to have as proof. Or just on file. A call asking for a police escort to your hotel doesn’t exactly scream “life-threatening” when you refuse to file a report in the state where the crime was committed.

Or do we think Nicki is just THAT GIRL and lost her sh*t…again?
