Songstress Jhené flaunted a diamond ring as paparazzi caught her and Big Sean and leaving GQ’s Men of the Year party in Los Angeles Thursday evening. Sparking fans to speculate, Did Big Sean actually put a ring on it?
Jhené quickly took to X after a fan on TikTok showed the pair Leaving the party. “Bullying works,” the fan captioned the video. The singer commented in a matter of minutes, to clarify the backstory of the ring.
These two have linked together since 2012. Jhene has even hinted that she wanted to get married to Sean. But according to an interview in Big Sean gave to Charlamagne Tha God, he wasn’t ready to get married to her because of all the drama. Maybe the fact that she was already dating someone when he first tried to get with her?
The duo collaborated on Big Sean’s “Beware” and “I’m Gonna Be” in 2012. He took her out to a Lakers game and the internet went crazy with accusations that she was cheating on producer Dot Da Genius. She took to twitter to clap back and tell everyone it was not Dot. It was another man that she had been seeing who was secretly married and had his baby mama pregnant! She goes on to say that she lost her brother and remained single and focused on her music. Her and Sean stayed platonic friends throughout that time. However People reports that she told them “It was pretty obvious after a while it was a date. We had never really been alone together. It was really fun.” She also went onto marry Dot in 2014.
Despite having a baby together Sean is still hesitant. In 2016, while on her Highroad Tour, Jhene hinted to Sean she wanted a ring. In July 2019, Big Sean dropped his track “Single Again,” which Aiko did backup vocals for, and the lyrics suggested that it was about their breakup. Nonetheless, the exes proved that things were amicable on social media when Aiko tweeted a link to the song. Also that year she released her track ‘None of Your concern’. With Lyrics like “No, there’s not a day in these modern times / you haven’t crossed my mind / we both crossed the line” and “I only want the best for you moving forward.” The rapper also appeared in the music video, though they did not have any scenes together. The couple’s relationship appeared to back on when Big Sean wished Aiko a happy birthday in 2020 and shared some personal moments of the two on Instagram. The pair hit the red carpet for the first time since their split at the 2021 Grammy Awards. Big Sean was up for best rap performance and Aiko’s album Chilombo had been nominated for three different categories. In 2022 Aiko delivered an incredible performance of “America the Beautiful” to kick off Super Bowl LVI. Big Sean was right by her side for this epic moment. She took to IG to show the gram some behind the scenes pics.
Sean celebrated a birthday in March and 4 months later the pair announced they were expecting. He took her to his hometown. Showed her all the spots where he grew up. Publicly announced how beautiful she was as a “Beautiful mom”. And that they were having a baby boy. That year they even went as the characters from Juno. They have their baby. Seem to be in bliss. But then he tells Charlamagne he doesn’t wanna get married? On the Out of Context podcast, Charlamagne Tha God asked Big Sean why he and Aiko have yet to tie the knot.
“To be real with you, just like any people who have dealt with love, we’ve had our ups and downs. And I think it’s still finding the right navigation through it all,” the rapper admitted. “To me, marriage symbolizes the best relationship. I would like to, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.”
Is he keeping his options open? What work needs to be done? From the sounds of both break up song there was infidelity on both ends!
